LOOKBOOK.nu: "Urban battlefields of fashion " by Carly Leverett

Clucky for Clogs

I love that fashion can exist without rules, and that just because something is old, it is never out of fashion or less stylish. So I thought I'd resurrect the flower power inside me and bring it all to life, and express my inner hippie. It wasn't hard, and I think it looks fab, and you can do it too. Clogs are huge right now, I see them everywhere I go, but they can be wasted with a bad outfit, because people aren't sure how to style them, all it takes is a good look back in time, and it all comes together. Get inspired like I did from The Runaways, and don't ever be afraid to go there!
(Above: Sportsgirl -Black turban, black knee highs, tan clogs, white vintage top. Dotti - Denim Waist-coat. Op-shop - floral skirt.)
(Below: From Left: Sportsigrl - poppy dress, tan belt, black turban, knee high socks, sunglasses, and clogs. Pony & the Seal - Teapot necklace. As above. Op-shop - faux fur, printed top. Pierre Cardin - glow mesh bag. Sport
sgirl - flairs, clogs. Pony & the Seal - cassette ring. Op-shop - jumper. Cotton On - shorts.) To get that 70s look all it takes is a pair of clogs, a rope headband/turban over long locks, a bad-ass pair of flairs or thigh high socks, and bold print that brings the flower power baby yeah!

The D.I.Y. Cure

D.I.Y. Part 3
I wanted to give the Body Armour I made a test run, and where better then the dangerous wilds of my backyard! I also wanted to showcase a bit of my own styling as well, which I like to be a bit diverse with, and not limit myself to certain styles. I was very inspired by Robert Smith. as I often am, and wanted to capture some of his edge. Sass &Bide are always in my mind as well, being one of my favourite designers, so I like to incorporate a bit of Sass in everything I do. Bare in mind, I am not a model, or a professional photographer, I'm just doing my thing, D.I.Y. til I die!

Mix it up, keep it edgy and always D.I.Y!

Peace out.

D.I.Y Part 2

D.I.Y Part 2
Wow! Today was a great day and I really feel like i've produced a piece that has created so much enjoyment for me! I don't know where this idea cropped up from for this delightful trio, but I'm glad it did. It was just one of those moments where the image cropped up in my head, and I just had to do it! So I went on a quest for materials, from ebay to red dot, and finally it was Kmart that provided me with the goods, the old hidden gold mine! And what's more, it only cost me a whopping $3!! Got out my trusty glue gun from it's holster and went town, and here were the results. So it's tea time all the time at the Pony & The Seal!
Body armour! A little past it's day perhaps, but i never leave home without it! Inspired by a recent purchase of a nice and chunky necklace, which resembled a chest plate/shoulder pad hybrid. My initial thought was to kick it old school and rock it 80's with some techno shoulder pads. But then I thought I'd take it that one step further, and get myself ready for battle. So check it out, and don't go venturing into today's urban battlefields of fashion without one! Once again, Do It Yourself peeps.

Peace out.

D.I.Y

So I'm a 21 year old lass that's working in the fashion industry. All day I'm exposed to new trends and styles. So I decided to make the most of all this knowledge I'm getting, and run with it on my own terms.
I'm all about the good old D.I.Y. if I want to do something, I do it, and that is what this, my first post on Pony & The Seal is going to be about, as it is so close to my heart.
All of us will know what it's like to wonder what something would look like, and what could look cool, but can get frustrated when we can't find what we are looking for, so why not DO IT YOURSELF! Do what I do, and take a $10 necklace from Diva's men's range, and turn it into a one off blingin' ring! The first day I unleashed this bad boy to the public, I was constantly asked where I got it from, and where others could get a hold of one.

peace out, we'll be back soon with a Tea Cup n Saucer ring!
